Garden Wedding Iowa
February 24, 2005

Need Inspiration for my wedding menu — SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY!?
Main Dishes: (both of these are grilled)
Iowa Chop
Grilled Chicken — with BBQ flavoring (not BBQ sauce)
Warm Dishes:
Cheesy Potatoes
Steamed Rice with Veggies
Appetizers/Salads:
Garden Salad
Fruit Salad (Watermelon/Cantaloupe/Grapes)
Raw Shrimp/Cocktail Sauce (?)
Cheese & Cracker Tray
Potato Salad
Do I need any more warm dishes? Should I add anything else? I want a lot of variety and everyone to enjoy the food and company since the wedding is going to be REALLY short and simple. Please give me any ideas you may have.
Thank you!
The key element to our wedding is being able to sit down with our family and eat together. That is something that in both of our families is very important. While the food is being grilled – the dinner is being served indoors.
If you have vegetarians or people who do not eat a lot of meat you may want to add a pasta dish – that could be another warm dish. Perhaps a veggie or two without the rice.
I’d put some bread with the salads (because I love bread).
Otherwise it doesn’t sound bad. I’m sure whatever you serve people will enjoy because they’re spending it celebrating your marriage.
Congratulations.
