Catholic wedding readings?
Our priest gave us a book of readings to choose from – but all of the Old Testament seem to be very "Fear of God" and "a woman is a blessing, and she should fear her husband as she fears God. "This is not really the way follow God. I hear is good in the book of Ruth on fidelity – does anyone know where I can find it? Also any other good reads (I must choose two) that is not of St. Paul to the Corinthians and not too much – "I fear the wrath of God"
For our wedding, the Old Testament has been used Zephaniah 3:17-20 – The Lord your God is you, it is powerful to save. He delights in you, it will be quiet with his love, rejoice with you, with the song. "The penalties for statutory holidays and retreat, but they are a burden and a shame for you. This is my commandment: Love one another as I have loved you. (13) has greater love than it does, than to give his life for his friends. Another 1 John 3:16-20 would be good (the letter, not the Gospel) is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ gave his life for us. If we must give our lives for our brothers.
