What to write in a wedding card when not giving money?
So I was asked to be part of a wedding of an old friend… long story short the pre-wedding events and the wedding itself is costing me a ton of money… first of all they decided to have the wedding in italy so we are all paying to fly out there and paying for our own stay…. not only that we also split the cost of her bridal shower, I bought her a shower gift, and we also split the cost of her bachelorette party because she decided the book it for herself at the most exclusive and expensive club in the city, mind you there is only 3 of us. Paid for a dress, new shoes and have to get make up and hair done in italy for euro prices… I decided to not put money in her card because I feel I have spent enough on the wedding already, but what should I write, should I explain why in a very subtle way that the cost was too much for me already? Please help… what should i write?
Maybe make her a card? I think homemade cards are nice gifts and less expected to be filled with cash. Then again if you bring a gift for the shower, isn’t that enough?
