gift of the label of marriage – what about the one-year rule?

I heard that customers have up to one year from the date of marriage to make a donation. Is this true? Whence comes this custom? Are there many people waiting for months after the marriage before give a gift?

A wedding gift is given at the wedding in progress * * – The new family, new house, new relationship – and not the marriage * * (which is an event one day). Donations should be sent to the house of the bride before marriage, or the couple's home after marriage. It is wrong for a number of reasons to give gifts on marriage itself, although it is often done by people who do not know or are not organized enough to arrange for delivery. The reasons that gifts should not be put to the marriage are: 1) Ladies and gentlemen do not carry parcels when dressed formally 2) bad taste to a formal event seems materialistic or spiritual 3) gives additional work for the hosts they need to take responsibility to deliver gifts to the bride and groom when the night of the game is over. 4) It creates a social pressure on others to give gifts instead of free to give or not as they wish. So, if the gifts to be delivered after the wedding and brought to the event, the label must be delivered close enough to the wedding date that the link between the onset of marriage, and delivery of the gift, not lost. After a year or more, you will find gifts Wedding overlap with the first baby gifts that can confuse the intended gift. Thus, one year is an outer limit. But overall, one year is too long to wait. Donations must be received before the wedding for most, some few in a month or two after marriage, and the rare gift off the city for the first time a visit with the donor in the first year of marriage. Note that the "ill-often cited rule, which has a year to recognize * donations, is simply false. You must send their thanks as soon as possible.
