Engagement Ring settings?
I know that a lot of people typically get solitaire engagement rings… But I’m not sure that I really want that. I know I can get it because it’s my ring and I can do what I want, but is that normal to not get a solitaire setting? It has side stones and two smaller stone next to the center stone.
Is that too much? I have also considered getting a solitaire and using a ring enhancer as my wedding band.
Does anyone know if they can solder platinum and white gold together?
The reason that I’m considering an enhancer is because I think it’s more traditional to get a solitaire. Plus if I use the enhancer as my wedding band, I don’t have to get a wedding band on the side. I don’t like how one wedding band on the side isn’t symmetrical, plus I have small petite fingers, and I don’t want to over do it with too thick of bands.
The ring you picked out on Blue Nile is beautiful…and definitely not too much. i have seen much more extravagant engagement rings!
You don’t really want to solder together white gold and platinum. It won’t look right. As the ring ages, the solder point will become visible, and the platinum will patina to a different shade than the white gold.
if I were you, I would pick what you like better: white gold or platinum. then, just do both your engagement ring and your band in that metal. I would keep your wedding band narrow and relatively simple if you choose the blue nile style engagement ring. you could do more diamonds if you want across the top of the wedding band. but I would not do something with tons and tons of detail as the wedding band with that style of engagement ring. Especially if you have small fingers.
